The breeze is stiffer, gusting up to 30Km/h now, still out of the north.  The temperature has gone up a few degrees 17°C, bright and sunny, the sky is a mix of sun and clouds feels like a lovely fall day for the final day of summer 2017.

Google Assistant is the search engine’s AI-based app which can help you via chat or voice commands. It launched for iPhone users in the U.S. four months ago, but is now available for download in Canada, without a U.S. iTunes account workaround.

Assistant will be able to launch existing Google apps on your iPhone, allowing its voice queries to be come pretty powerful if you’re tied into the search engine’s iOS ecosystem.

In our short tests with Google Assistant for iOS, it has worked well, being able to interpret our voice commands with higher accuracy than Siri at times. The Assistant can launch Gmail to compose a new email for you, which is neat.

A decided change in the weather. 12°C light breeze from the north west, drier air.

Anyone installed this yet? Does it address my biggest complaint, which is: In iTunes 12.x I cannot take a master playlist, shuffle it then easily break the shuffled version into say a dozen shorter playlists. This is quite easy in version 10.x

Can't even recall the last time I saw a cable type backhoe. I think they were called shovels back then. Plus a dump truck from back in the 50s.

Park bench in Waterton townsite, the day of the initial voluntary evacuation order. I wonder how it survived the combination of smoke water and ash? The gent had been welded to that bench and working that phone for at least half an hour. Obviously he wanted in the photo come hell or high water.

IMAP is definitely a better system than pop by a mile. Been using it on my server for quite a few years now, when I started using a laptop as well as the desktop years ago it became a nessecity.
