Granted, in your case as you state the extra screen will help you.
As far as comparing prices $2799 gets you:
Sony Vaio 505LS 750mhz PIII 128MB of RAM 20GB Disk 12.1" Screen 6 hour battery MS Word 1 Year warranty USB Floppy Drive It has Audio In & Out jacks. It has actual serial ports. It also has IEEE1394 (Firewire) It weighs 3.7 pounds.
It is 1" x 10 x 8 (H x W x D)
No it doesn't include a built in DVD. That's not its target market, its designed to be small. But you can get external CD-RW or DVD drives for it. Something the PBG4 will never have. But be aware. Your paying for size and weight, not for features. If you move up to the next model, suddenly you get alot more for the same amount.
There's also models from Toshiba, and other vendors that offer more for the same amount. My point was the PBG4 is not this revolutionary machine people act like it is. Give me the same box for $800 less and a normal aspect ratio screen and I'd be alot happier.
