As few of us actually have one of the new Ti-PBs to play with Mark's criticisms are mostly speculative. After playing with them everyday during MWSF here are my impressions. - In spite of a few small complaints I have this is basically a very cool PB. The keyboard feels very good to type on. -It would have been nice if they could have added a small space between the function keys and the rest of the keys. -The clutch for the lid seems to let the screen wobble a little more than on my Wallstreet. -The screen seems a little more restrictive in terms of viewing angles than my Wallstreet. This is a little hard to tell for certain because Apple always presents all their hardware on glowing white tables which tend to wash out laptop displays.
Personally- -The lack of expansion bays is not a problem. Most of us don't use them and taking out the expansion bay makes for a thinner, lighter book which is what most of us want. -A CD-R might have been nice but I count this as a minor detraction. In Japan I have seen only one laptop which has a combo DVD/CD-R (forget if this was Toshiba or Fujitsu) but it was in a much fatter, heavier laptop. -The size will be fine for most cases in the US. The larger screen is largely compensated for by a narrower border around the screen. -0-
